Celebration
is a well-known, almost traditional Star Wars event in the United
States, organized by Lucasfilm. We had Celebration IV in this May but
now there will be another Celebration here, in Europe.
Celebration Europe will be held at Excel Hall, London, between 13th
and 15th of July.
A lot of Star Wars
stars are invited: producer Rick McCallum (Episodes I-II-III), David
Prowse (Darth Vader in EP4-5-6), Ray Park (Darth
Maul), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett in EP5-6), Billy Dee Williams (Lando
Calrissian) etc. At the first day, London Symphony Orchestra will perform
a free film music concert as a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the
Star Wars saga (this event is not a part of Celebration Europe).
There will be a fan
art exhibition at Celebration Europe and
I'm happy to
inform you that I will be one of the exhibitioners.
You can find me and
my pictures in the South Hall, Fan Area, Block M (Fan Force.
This will be my first
exhibition so I'm honored to have the first occasion at a huge official Lucasfilm event which is unique in Europe.
Here I collect information about Celebration Europe and the exhibition. After
CelEu, I will upload some photos, too.
11th JULY, 2007
I am leaving for
London today. I will set up my posters tomorrow. Show starts Friday.
1st JULY, 2007
I received the last
details of the exhibition this Friday. The organizers attached the floor
plans to have a closer look at where the exhibition will be.
The exact location is:
South Hall, Fan Area, Block M ('Fan Force'). I think you
will find my panel easily because I will put the logo of my site on the
top of the 2.5 meters tall panel. We can fix up our pictures the day
before Celebration Europe starts.
I will rotate the
exhibition material each day. Here are my display previews:
I will share an
additional panel with another fan artist. I have not decided the display
plans for that panel yet - I will bring 6 additional posters with me and
I will see.
26th JUNE, 2007
I received a mail with
the details of the Fan Art Exhibition the day before yesterday. There
will be five exhibitors and we have 1,2 m width space each. This sounds
not so bad because most of my planned posters are A/3 so this way I can
show at least 6-7 pictures each day. They said it might be useful to
have an A/4 portfolio if somebody is interested in our works.
Selling pictures is
not allowed. Fan Force members will be briefed on what to do if someone
approaches the table asking for details on the artwork or the artists so
there is no need to be always around the pictures. :)
17th JUNE, 2007
I heard rumors at the
beginning of the year that there will be a fan art exhibition at Celebration
Europe. I made contact with Matt Skilton immediately who is a
mediator between organizator Barry Eldridge and the fans.
I was very happy to hear that they count on me as an exhibitioner.
The organizators asked
the international fan organization called Fan Force to help
working out the details. Discussions start next week - after then I can
give you further details.
I plan to display cca.
12-15 posters in sum. I will change the displays each day. Here are some
of the pictures I plan to show there:
